Motion Sensors detect and learn peoples’ movements in the home. They are not cameras. They detect body heat, and can mistakenly detect other sources of heat, including heating vents, space heaters, fireplaces, or windows facing direct sunlight.
The Motion Sensor has a wide angle of detection. Position them in the corner of a room and out of view of the doorway where passing foot traffic may be detected.
They must be installed level. To avoid the detection of pets, they should be directed straight out, not downward. Position at arm's-length above your head, or on the ceiling. The top of a door frame is a good height -- 7 to 10 feet above the floor.
Let’s begin by connecting a Motion Sensor to your Smart Home Center Gateway.
Begin by removing the left most Motion Sensor from the packaging. It’s labeled “Kitchen” on the bottom.
