Presence 360 gives your spare smartphone the ability to transform into an Internet-connected security camera, with the ability to take a look around from anywhere in the world. Setting it up is easy – we’ll walk you through it.
Step 1 – Plug in your Presence 360
Use only the power supply that came with the robot. It will provide enough power to operate Presence 360 and charge your smartphone simultaneously. You’ll see the blue light on the robot steadily breath in and out as it’s looking for a phone to pair with.
Step 2 – Run the Presence app on your spare smartphone
Download the app, “Presence,” from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Turn on Bluetooth. Create an account or sign into Presence, and then tap into “Use this device as a camera.”
Step 3 – Place your smartphone Presence camera into the Presence 360
Your smartphone will automatically connect to the robot, and begin controlling it. The blue light will blink rapidly while it connects, and will continue to blink on and off at a much slower rate to let you know the Presence 360 is alive. You’ll see the robot look around while it makes sure it can turn all the way around, 360 degrees.
Be sure to plug your phone into the USB outlet provided by the robot to keep your phone charged!
Step 4 – View your camera remotely
On your primary phone, download the Presence app and sign in using the same username and password as your camera. Tap into the camera to view it remotely (we renamed ours “Presence 360 camera”). Tap anywhere on the screen while viewing remotely to move the robot!
Tips and Tricks
* If your phone has a large screen, chances are it will be very power hungry. Dim your screen with the Dim Screen button to keep it charged.
* You can mount your Presence 360 to any standard camera mount with the screw terminal on the bottom.
* You can ignore the little button at the top of the robot. It’s used to unpair from a phone if held for more than 5 seconds.
